A teenager has been arrested following a firearms incident in Sutton Bridge, Lincolnshire.
Police received a report of a man making threats in the village at around 2.40pm on Sunday.
A firearms operation was initiated and an 18-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence. He is currently in custody.
Inspector Jim Tyner said: "In order to minimise the risk to members of the public, roads in the area were sealed off for several hours. Although the incident happened in Withington Street, Sutton Bridge is a small close-knit community and this incident may have caused fear to local residents.
"I want to thank members of the community for their patience during this time. There may be ongoing increased police activity in the area over the next few days.
"The firearms operation was the first phase of our response. The next phase is the investigation phase. As is often the case, the community is the key to our investigation and many of the answers we need lie within the Sutton Bridge community.
"I would ask anyone with information relating to this incident to contact Lincolnshire Police on 101, quoting incident 195 of January 20."
