Some 3,000 litres of diesel has been stolen from a petrol station in Lincolnshire.

The fuel worth several thousand pounds, was taken from a garage on Spilsby Road, Horncastle.

A vehicle with pumping equipment would have been needed to carry out the theft.

Diesel was pumped from the underground tank sometime between January 7 and 10.

Police are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen suspicious vehicles or activity in the area.

Anyone with information should contact PC John Biggs by dialling 101 or anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Why wasn't there any security unit there and didn't the garage have CCTV cameras operating?
