Tributes have begun pouring in for “beautiful” and “bubbly” 20-year-old Shim Genevieve Seetal, who died during a night out with friends last Friday.
The former Lincoln College student had been due to turn 21 in a week’s time, on Christmas Eve.
It is believed she passed away while partying with friends and boyfriend Kane Jordon Lilleyman during a club night in Bedford.
Rexina Thomson, mother of 22-year-old Kane, has paid tribute to Shim and told how she changed her son’s life.
“He was a different person with her,” she said.
“She was beautiful, inside and out, and will continue to be."
The Lincoln mum of three says Shim stayed at the family home so often, she became like an extra daughter - even tidying boyfriend Kane’s room.
“She was always going out with friends, she had a lot of friends who used to come back here but I wouldn’t mind,” she said.
“I considered her my daughter in law whether they were married or not.
“She was his first love, and he loved her so much.”
Shim and boyfriend Kane had gone clubbing with friends on December 13 but briefly lost each other during the night, after it is believed she was taken to an emergency medical room.
Bedfordshire Police say they were called to reports of a death at just after 6am on Saturday, after she had been taken to Bedford Hospital.
Mum Rexina added: “He told me he gave her a kiss goodbye, but he didn’t want to say goodbye. I said; none of us do.
“He said it was the worst day of his life, that he wanted to grow old with her and she was his ‘Shimmy.”
Bedfordshire Police say her death is not being treated as suspicious.
