GAINSBOROUGH Trinity Juniors FC will hold an open morning tomorrow for all children interested in football.

Five to 10-year-olds will all be made welcome and younger children will be given a mentor on the day.

This will be a child with two or three years' mini-soccer experience.

The session costs nothing and will start at 9.45am on the day and lasts for two hours.

The session will include warm-up training drills, skills, videos and mini matches.

Any player attending must have shin pads and appropriate footwear and clothing.

If anyone requires any details please ring Mark Smith on 01427 616634.

Meanwhile, a new Monday eight-a-side league has kicked off in Gainsborough and it got off to a very entertaining start.

League newcomers and favourites Dreamboys kicked off the season with a thrilling 4-4 draw against last season's champions Real Ale Madrid.

A sublime Carl Mallet goal got Dreamboys off to an ideal start but Andy Markham quickly equalised.

Real Ale Madrid thought they had won it when Ben Nicholson put them 4-3 up.

However Dreamboys pulled level thanks to a goal from defender Paul Dexter and it remained level in a game neither side deserved to lose.

BFDC were unable to raise a side so Old Big Head were awarded a 3-0 walkover win.

The final game was a one-sided affair with other newcomers Blues Brothers going top thanks to a win against an under strength Diamond United.

Blues won 7-0 with Joe Owen and Tom Wellman scoring despite the best efforts of a keen Richard Lewis and good saves from Ben Watson of Diamond Utd.

Any teams interested in joining the league should contact Jamie on 07815 309042.
