A group of 12 local photographers will be showcasing their work at the free exhibition called Hip 2B Square at Lincoln Central Library.

InstaChimps was founded earlier this year off the back of another local, SLR, photography group called ShutterChimps.

The photographs on display vary from local scenes of events such as the Waddington International Air Show to scenes from as far away as Zurich.

Miles Winterburn, the founding member of the InstaChimps Group said: "It is becoming really popular shooting with smatphones and we wanted to have an exhibition off the back of that.

“This exhibition is really exciting for us, being the first one we have pulled together since the group started earlier this year.

"We have a lot of talented image makers within the group, and we wanted to promote not only this talent through the exhibition, but the existence of the group to new members.

"There are some challenges with shooting on a phone, some of the cameras aren't that good and you struggle to get depth of field but there are some great apps out there to deal with that."

"If anyone wants a go they can download something like instagram and if you see something you get your camera out your pocket, do a quick render then share it instantly through, Twitter, Flickr, Facebook or Tumblr etc and that's the beauty of it."

Entrance to the exhibition is free and open from 9am until 7pm during weekdays and between 9am and 4pm on Saturday.
