Battered lurcher Flo who was left for dead with a broken neck by heartless hare coursers alongside the river Witham at Meadow Lane, North Hykeham has taken her first outside walk.
Echo readers helped raise around £8,000 to pay for emergency vet bills after undergoing two successful and lengthy operations.
They included fixing pins into her neck as well as removing a number of blood clots near her spine.
The cash raised specifically for Flo will also enable the branch to put together a three-month physio plan for her.
Hundreds of people, horrified by Flo’s injuries, joined in a social media campaign and other fund-raising activities to raise the money required for her surgery.
Now the 18-month-old black lurcher is home in time for Christmas in the care of foster mum Carla Jones.
And Flo was recently taken outside for her first walk since moving into her Lincoln home.
