Network Rail has released CCTV footage of a pedestrian jumping the Lincoln High Street level crossing, narrowly avoiding an oncoming freight train.
The footage is from December 14, 2012 and shows a male jumping over the barriers at 3.34am, just seconds before a freight train passes.
The CCTV has been released after plans were submitted for the new Brayford Wharf East rail footbridge.
Phil Verster, route managing director for Network Rail said: "This individual had a very lucky escape and these images reinforce the need for us to take action at both level crossing sites in the city.
"We are acutely aware of this need and continue to seek the best possible solution for the High Street level crossing."
