Two Lincolnshire cricketers have set a new world record for batting.

Dave Newman and Richard Wells, both of Billingborough Cricket Club, completed their attempt to bat continuously and simultaneously in two adjacent cricket nets for at least 48 hours at midday on Saturday, smashing the previous 26-hour record.

They have been aiming to raise at least £10,000 for Brain Tumour Research after teammate Wayne Chessum was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2008.
