Victim suffers fractured skull in assault at Skegness nightclub

The victim of an assault at a Skegness nightclub has suffered a fractured skull.

An ambulance and police were called to the LA Cafe nightclub at around 4.45am on Sunday after a man was punched in the face.

The suspect left the scene before the arrival of emergency services.

The 23-year-old victim was unconscious and was treated by staff inside the club. Hwas taken to Boston's Pilgrim Hospital where it was found he had suffered a fractured skull as a result of the assault.

Enquiries to trace the suspect are still on-going and police continue to obtain statements and gather evidence in connection with this serious assault.

It has been noted by police that various rumours and discussions are being posted about this incident on social media sites.

The investigating officer DS Jim Hodgson has requested that any discussions about the case cease immediately, in particular any comments that contain racist language.

This is not only harmful to the police investigation but those making such comments are committing a criminal offence and action will be taken against them.

Lincolnshire Police are determined to identify, locate and bring to justice any person connected with this serious assault and anyone with any information should contact Lincolnshire Police on 101, quoting incident 112.
