A raccoon is on the loose in Lincolnshire after a strange break-in over Christmas.
Offenders opened the cages of six birds and a raccoon, releasing them.
It is unclear whether or not the raccoon is on the loose or has been stolen.
Members of the public are being warned the animal could be dangerous if it was made to feel threatened.
The owner said: “The raccoon could bite if cornered.
“It has a similar character to a snappy dog.”
The offenders entered the property on Marsh Lane in Tattershall sometime between 11am on December 24 and 10am on December 25.
Anyone with information is asked to call Lincolnshire Police on the non-emergency number 101 and speak to PC Andy Price, quoting incident number 119 of December 25.
