Wilko Johnson is to headline Lincoln Blues festival this year.

The inspirational artist is best known for his work with the 1970s band Dr Feelgood.

Wilko has been diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer but has chosen to refuse chemotherapy so he can tour.

The artist has also been working on an album with the Who’s Roger Daltrey, “Going Back Home”, which was released last month. It features tracks from his solo career and days with Dr Feelgood.

This is the first blues festival to be held in Lincoln and will take place at the Engine Shed on Sunday May 18 from 2pm to 10pm.

Advance tickets are priced at £24 and can be purchased by calling 01472 349 222.

Other artists playing at the event are: Paul Jones and Dave Kelly’s, Simon Townshend, Aynsley Lister, Babajack, The SpellKasters, and Peoples Republic of Mercia.
