Around 120 people joined the Women's Royal Air Force for trip down memory lane during a reunion in Lincoln.
The girls got together at The Pride of Lincoln pub, after a new WRAF branch of the Royal Air Forces Association was formed.
They swapped lively tales of serving their country in far flung parts of the globe and spoke of having the time of their lives.
Jacky Reid, 56, from Walsall, joined aged 16 and nine months and left in January 1980.
"We set up a Facebook group about 18 months ago to bring girls together used to be in the WRAF," said Mrs Reid, a former senior aircraftswoman who worked in communications.
"It started off with about 30 people and now it's grown to 1,400."
