Victorious Woodhall Spa 10k runner Matt Bowser has vowed to smash the 30-minute mark in the popular village race next year.
The event on Sunday, June 10, saw 1,250 people take part and Mr Bowser, 28, a recruitment consultant from Lincoln, was first across the line – for the second year in a row – in 31:05.
"I was a bit quicker here in 2011 but I pulled my calf on the Tuesday before this race and it was a bit touch and go whether I was going to be running it," said Mr Bowser, of Lincoln Wellington AC.
"Luckily, everything was all right and the weather conditions were perfect. Next year I'm going to break 30."
In second place was Carl Ryde, of Doncaster AC, in 33:13. Dan Hogg, from Lincoln Wellington AC, was third with 34:33.
The first woman home was fellow Wellingtonian Natalie Farrow in 37:31.
There was also a fun run which attracted about 200 competitors.
Blake Kenneally-Forrester, 12, from Woodhall Spa, finishing first, for the second year running, in about 16 minutes.
He said he felt "great" about his victory and added: "I just turn up and run."
The event, organised by Woodhall Spa and Horncastle Round Table, has benefited scores of local good causes.
