Up-and-coming pop singer Roxy May has filmed the video for her debut single in one of Lincoln's most popular parks.

Dog walkers and families did a double take as a film crew shot scenes around the bandstand in Boultham Park on Sunday, October 21.

Vintage vehicles and extras in period costumes helped create a traditional British tea party scenario for the video to her song "Bus Stops".

Roxy, 22, who lives in St Peter's Avenue, and is a student adviser in Nottingham, said: "I live just around the corner from the park.

"The location was chosen because we just love the bandstand.

"We are hoping that the video will raise the profile of the park and the restoration that is being planned.

"It would be great to have some music events and festivals there in the future.

"It was a full day's filming and I was up at 5am.

"We had a bit of a slow start in the morning due to the fog which meant filming was a bit hectic but we got it done on time and went really well.

"From setting up the tent in the morning and throughout the day we had all the dog walkers and families interested in what we were doing."

Bus Stops was released in July and is available to download. Roxy wrote the song aged 17, and has developed it over the years.

"I would love to say I'm really rock 'n' roll but my music is pop and I have a really girlie voice," said Roxy.

Vehicles were loaned by local enthusiasts and La Vida Vintage, based in Monks Road, Lincoln, supplied the clothing.

Owner Rachel Taylor, 37, said her shop was recommended by a friend.

"We lent various bits of clothing, cake stands, tea pots, lampshades and wicker baskets," she said. "We were really pleased to support this."

The video should be available to view online in three or four weeks' time.

Still looks like Noel Fielding. Just an opinion, no offense.
