A Lincolnshire man who won Britain's Best Butcher award has given his guidelines on how to cook the perfect sausage.
Eric Phipps who was was one of Rick Stein's Food Heroes with his family business FC Phipps said cooks can follow the following guidelines.
- Cook sausages slowly, either in the oven or in a frying pan.
- These should be cooked until they are nice and brown and sticky - the brown sticky substance is called maillard.
- These can be cooked with cider and apple or a layer of onion
