Two people critical after A46 three-car crash between Lincoln and Newark

Police are looking for witnesses after two people suffered life-threatening injuries in a three-car crash on the A46 near Collingham, on September 13.

A Mazda, Volkswagen Passat and Toyota were involved in the incident that occurred at 10am.

Two elderly people inside the Passat were airlifted to Nottngham's Queen's Medical Centre with life-threatening injuries.

A woman who was a back seat passenger in the Passat was also taken to Nottingham's QMC with serious injuries, though they are not thought to be life-threatening.

The woman driver of the Mazda was taken to Lincoln County Hospital suffering serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.

All four people remain in hospital and the driver of the Toyota was not injured.

Police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident, or has any information, to contact Nottinghamshire Police’s Crash Investigation Unit on 101, extension 800 2225 or alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
