A £3 million West Lindsey fitness club and sports store is getting a £650,000 makeover.
DW Sports Fitness in Gainsborough's Marshall's Yard is to be transformed.
It will get a new ground-floor training area and state-of-the- art 'technogym' equipment.
Part of the upstairs retail store will move downstairs to make way for the creation of a new footwear department.
The work will also create an extra 4,000sq ft of additional retail space between DW Sports and Browns, which landlord Dransfield Properties plan to lease out separately.
DW Sports head of sales and marketing Mel Crossland said: "The changes we're making to both the store and fitness club are a massive improvement.
"It allows for a much more inviting shopping experience to the sports store customer.
"And we'll be updating the fitness club with the latest innovative equipment for our members to enjoy."
Marshall's Yard opened in April 2007 when the former Britannia Works was unveiled as an award-winning £39 million shopping centre.
The work at DW Sports follows a £1 million investment in the former Carpetright store by Browns of York and a £100,000 re-fit of Costa Coffee.
Marshall's Yard assistant centre manager Alison Hall said: "We are delighted that DW Sport Fitness is investing in the centre.
"Having the store on the ground floor with a footwear department upstairs will be much more inviting and convenient for shoppers.
"The gym and store are both extremely popular and we are looking forward to seeing the new-look DW when it opens later in the year.
"These changes also give us the opportunity to bring another retailer to the centre with a new unit next door to Browns – which is great news."
Although the fitness centre will remain open to members during the transformation, the store will temporarily close and reopen before Christmas.
Shopper Andrew Brigham, 37, from Epworth, said: "Every time we come to Gainsborough there's something new happening.
"The last time we came it was the Farmers' Market and now it's changes to the interior of the stores."
