Up to 5cm of snow is forecast to fall in Lincolnshire overnight, leading to an icy start to Monday morning rush hour.

Today, there is a warning of widespread ice across the county.  The main roads are clear and gritter lorry runs continue,  but drivers are urged to take extra care on untreated side roads.

Snow and ice caused more than 70 crashes on Lincolnshire's roads at the start of last week, about three times more than would usually be expected.

Police road safety advice includes clearing all snow from cars before setting off and to triple the distance between vehicles when driving.
