Boston United ended a miserable week with a 3-2 home defeat to Altrincham in Blue Square Bet North.
Following their shock FA Trophy defeat at Skelmersdale in midweek, the Pilgrims offered virtually no threat during a drab first half.
United then fell behind just three minutes into the second half when the league's top scorer Damian Reeves tapped home after keeper Ricky Drury had parried Duncan Watmore's drive.
However, the home side fought back and levelled just 60 seconds later when Marc Newsham superbly slotted home his 17th goal of the season.
Alty restored their lead thanks to the same combination as Reeves nodded home Watmore's cross.
And when Nicky Clee fired home his side's third goal, the game looked up.
But Boston again hit back quickly with substitute Kallum Smith scrambling the ball over the line.
However, Boston could not find another equaliser, extending their winless run to five games.
