Full-time: Lincoln 1 Forest Green Rovers 2 (VIDEO)

By LeighCurtis  |  Posted: January 28, 2013

Comments (22) Lincoln City's miserable run of form continued as Forest Green Rovers claimed a comfortable win at Sincil Bank.

The visitors led after just seven minutes when Jan Klukowski prodded in after Reece Styche's shot hit the bar.

Lincoln hit the woodwork themselves midway through the half when Jake Thomson's 25-yard drive smacked the upright.

Forest Green's response was to make it 2-0 as Chris Stokes got a final touch on Eddie Oshodi's header to force it over the line.

Lincoln improved after the break and made it 2-1 in the dying stages when Adam Smith converted from the penalty spot after Oshodi handled in the box.

This decline has come since our team was disrupted by injuries to Mo Forfana - Power & Gilbert Until they got injured we were doing quite well. And it just proves how much these 3 have been missed. So lets stop calling the manager until after we get these 3 back in the team and then we should see us getting better results.

I find it truly amazing that a few people (and there are just a few) are only happy when a Manager is sacked, and in some cases has been for no reason (Alexander, Jackson) but fail to understand that is exactly the reason for the club's drop down to about the level a small city team should be in. If it were up to them Moyes (what has he ever won?) and dozens more would have been long gone. Just for once in your little lives you need to stick with it or change to tiddlywinks.

I can understand the fans frustration but to boo the players off the ptch after the first half and at the end of the game against FGR on Sat was unacceptable. The team clearly need motivating - DH achieved it away at Dartford and Grimsby, but there seems to be something lacking at home. Unless the team are prepared to fight for a result, the slide will continue. Bob stated last season he was budgeting for 3,000 attendances and 1600 on Saturday must be leaving a hole in the finances??

For success, everyone has to pull in the same direction. It's obvious to anyone that we're miles away from that situation. Bob seems to be focussing on keeping the club ticking over whilst he can organise the new ground, maybe to get his money back. Reg seems to have some desire to sign and play hundreds of players. Is he on some kind of incentive in this direction? It seems more important than winning games. I can't agree that he is doing a good job when we are in a pack of part-time teams in the bottom 8. A good job would be top 8 in this division. The players must be confused with continual tinkering and lack of organisation, defensive tactics and general team shape. The fans are sick to the back teeth of this downward spiral which has been going on for 5 years or more. Yet, Bob seems to be happy with Reg in the same way he was happy with Sutton and happy with Tilson. Look where that took us. We badly need to get a result at Braintree. Up the Imps

On the subject of playing youngsters, DH said early in the season that he will feed youngsters in at the right time. Connor Robinson got his chance when players were injured, since then he has done well when coming of the bench. he is not ready yet to start games. He tried the lad from Bournmouth, against Tamworth & Woking, both matches D.H. pulled the player early, he clearly was not good enogh. Jake Jones did well on Saturday when he came on, this player has only played one F.L game. My point is, Arron Rice has done well for the youth team, he wouldn't cost a penny extra to play so why are we picking non tried yougsters before are own, why? D.H. must go NOW!!!!!!!

Malvern2001: I agree with what you say and I saw that on some faces after the Southport game, and its been apparant for sometime now, pleased I'm not the only one. Why the players have to put up wth it I don't know.I think DH thinks he's the saviour otherwise where would the players be. come on boys keep battling

Feel sorry for all fans of the club as this chairman can see no wrong and actually wants to extend the contract of Holdsworth. He must have unlimited funds as that decision will take Lincoln to oblivion. Looks to me as if the players have had enough and this is a sure sign that they are not playing for DH anymore. Been to see them training occasionally and you should see the looks on their faces sometimes when they hear what DH shouts now and then. With a chairman that makes judgements on managers as he does and the rest of his little club repelling allcomers, what hope do we have?

Well said redimp45, I agree with you totally, DH has just lost the plot. I don't know how much the Trust pushed the selection process the other thursday at the meeting, but I would appreciate it MMr Beck if you bring this point up with Mr Dorrian and your fellow directors, and maybe give yourselves time to listen to GB & CM as to the now short comings of DH at this time, please do something someody. come on boys

After 45 years of following the imps I regret to say that I can no longer sacrifice the time and money to watch a team of no hopers, Holdsworth is in panic mode signing unwanted club players on loan , this alone will upset the balance of the team , a team who could do no wrong in November!! I like many others have hung on to the bitter end but like the titanic sinking and with a weak commander it has to be time to let go. If Holdsworth swallows his bigoted pride and plays a team worthy of putting an imps shirt on then who knows ? Shirts and scarfs away until this weak hearted board make the Imps a proud battling team once more. Sorry people , I know you will thumbs down my post but truth is the best policy.
