Sp Falconry swooped onto the University of Lincoln campus today, in an attempt to raise awareness about endangered birds of prey.
A range of owls were on show, and students passing the University of Lincoln library seized to chance to hold the birds and have their photos taken with them.
Manager of the Boston based Sp Falconry Shane Pearson said: “It’s important to educate the students about birds of prey, because their numbers are declining, so you might not see any in 10 to 20 years’ time.”
The event was organised by the University of Lincoln’s Islamic Society.
Jameel Akmed, communications officer, said: “As part of the society we’ve spent lots of time discussing the rights of men women and children, and the next logical step was to discuss the rights of animals like birds of prey.”
